Your details and the website health check
What we keep when you buy a website health check, who else handles it, and for how long.
Who we are
Chido is run by Vincent Chido King, a sole trader in the United Kingdom. He is the controller of the details below. Registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, number C2069012. Our address is on our About the publisher page.
What we collect
Your email address, the website you ask us to check, the words you agreed to and when, whether you asked for occasional emails, and your order: the price, its status and Stripe's reference numbers for the payment.
We do not receive your card details: you give them to Stripe on Stripe's own page. Stripe tells us only that you paid, and the reference numbers.
Your internet address is used, in memory only, to limit how many orders one address can start; it is not stored.
What we use it for, and why we may
To run the check you bought and send you the link to your report, and to refund you if we cannot run it: that is needed for our contract with you.
To keep the record of the sale our accounts need: that is a legal obligation.
To send you occasional emails about our website services, only if you ticked the box, which is never ticked for you: that is your consent, and you can stop at any time from your report page or by writing to us.
No AI
No AI reads your details or writes your report. The report's words were written in advance, one for each finding, and are filled in with your site's figures.
Who else handles it
Stripe takes the payment for us and sends your receipt. For the card details you give it on its own page, Stripe follows its own privacy notice.
Our email provider, Migadu, in Switzerland (which the United Kingdom recognises as giving adequate protection), sends the email with your report link.
Google's PageSpeed Insights receives your website's address (never your email) to run Lighthouse on your home page.
Vultr provides our server, in London.
How long we keep it
An order that was never paid: 24 hours. Your email address: 30 days after your report is delivered (or after a refund), unless you asked for occasional emails, when we keep it until you stop them, and for at most two years. Your report, its private link and your website's address: 90 days after delivery. The rest of the order record (its date, price, status and Stripe's reference numbers): six years, for our accounts.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your details, object to how we use them, or withdraw your consent to emails at any time. Write to us through our Contact page; we reply within one month. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
